L’Estartit is a coastal town located along the Mediterranean Sea. Situated in the northeast of Spain, the town exploits the reputation of the Costa Brava and allows you to discover a landscape between the sea and the mountains. L’Estartit is known mainly for the natural reserve of the Medes Islands. The Natural Parc of Montgri, Les Illes Medes I El Baix Ter is a Nature Reserve situated In L’Estartit. Created in 2010, this Natural Parc includes a Marine Protected Area, the Montgrí Mountain Massif and the Bay of the river Ter. L’Estartit offers many possibilities for divers, but also for family vacations.

About Calypso Estartit

Calypso Diving Estartit is a family business run by Peter Lane for almost 40 years! Peter is assisted by his wife, Jacqueline. A Divemaster herself, Jacqueline knows well everything related to diving and The Medes Islands. The rest of the team consists of Dani, Juan and Sasha. We speak 7 Languages: Spanish, Catalan, German, Dutch, French, Russian and of course English!

Calypso Diving is a full proud Partner of the “Carta Europea de Turismo Sostenible” (“CETS”) from Europarc. We furthermore are a Longitude 181 ambassador center, and hold the PADI Green Star™ award. Since February 2024 we are the proud holders of the “Environmental quality guarantee badge” issued by the Government of Catalunya. MATERIAL

We have a good facility to store, rinse and dry.

Diving gear for rent is available.

We have 12 or 15 liter bottles, all double tap, DIN or INT with adapter.

Transport

We transport the equipment to the harbour and bring it back  after every dive.

We can pick up your diving equipment at your accommodation in L’Estartit. Don’t hesitate to ask us.

The Boat

It is always a trip of a 1-tank dive. The boat journey takes about 20 minutes. There is enough time to get dressed on the boat during the trip. Then you can enjoy a 50-minute dive and the boat returns to the harbour.

It is mandatory to have at least “Level 1” or equivalent to dive at the Medes Islands. Level 1-divers must be guided by an instructor or divemaster. From level 2 or equivalent, people can eventually dive independently.

Reservation

It is absolutely necessary to book in advance.

Please contact us by phone, email, WhatsApp or use the online contact form.

Please give precise  information, i.e how many divers in the group, your diving level, the dates you want to dive, the equipment you need to hire, the amount of dives you want to do etc.
